Thank You

Thank You

This past year has shown me just how important these parks are to all of you. There is solidarity in the passion we all share! Your support has meant the world to us and is even more motivation to keep working hard. As we begin this new season, we're making an effort to not only educate and spread awareness, but to share the positive effect nature has on all of us as human beings. I look forward to new opportunities for Rock the Park! Thank you all for caring and helping us spread the word about our magnificent national parks.

Montana: A Grand Homecoming

Montana: A Grand Homecoming

By Jack Steward

This trip to Montana broke me out of my current mind state. I hadn't been overwhelmed by beauty like this in a long time. Los Angeles is my home and I will always feel like a part of the city, but being in Montana reminded me that I am also still very much connected to Big Sky Country. I plan to come back again soon with more time but for now, this short trip was enough to replenish my spirit.

Into The Unknown

Into The Unknown

By Jack Steward

Have you ever looked at the ocean and been awestruck with curiosity at its beauty and wonder? How it's so vast and yet also so full of life? Do you ever stare up at a mountain and wonder what kind of creatures are lurking under the trees? These are the thoughts I get when staring into the unknown. It's curiosity that drives us to venture out and discover what’s lying just around the corner. This is the essence of adventure.

Music is a part of everyone's lives. We use it to get excited or simply pass the time. Music makes us feel a certain way; we use it to either confirm our feelings or to transform our moods and attitudes. When things are going well I will put on song that makes me feel like I'm on the top of the world. Adversely, when things aren't going so well I will either confirm those feeling with somber music or try to change my state of mind with a more light hearted song. Music creates emotion within us all and this can really enhance your experience in nature as well.

Peace in Nature

Peace in Nature

By Jack Steward

It is in nature that I find the confidence to become the person that I feel I am called to be. It has constantly been there to inspire and push me to new heights. In the best of times, it is a place to get out and play! It's a place to soak in those rays of light and have the time of your life. But nature can also give you a place to work through some of the problems that seem to weigh you down. All in all, I have found that in nature – I find peace
